Start with a playable premise
Original prompt: “We are adult volunteers, both over 25, closing a neighborhood archive. A postcard has appeared in the returns box with tomorrow’s date. You play the archivist; I play the volunteer. Ask what we should inspect first. Keep the scene curious and non-graphic, and do not write my actions.”
Keep a short continuity note
After a scene change, record the location, known clue, unresolved question, and who acts next. For this example: “Archive desk; postcard found; sender unknown; my character chooses whether to inspect the stamp.” Keep guesses separate from established events.
Repair without restarting everything
If the reply suddenly identifies the sender, say: “The sender is still unknown. Return to the archive desk and offer two possible clues without solving the mystery.” This restores the open decision rather than adding more lore to a confused scene.
Know when to stop editing
If repeated corrections dominate the story, shorten the scene or choose another character. A continuity note is a writing aid, not proof of persistent memory. This kit has not been tested against a live WantYou model.
